We are a Catering Company established for 5 years and based in Dunoon, Argyll serving the whole of Argyll and Central Scotland. Our partners boast between them over 40 years experience in the catering industry

Ian McColm

Ian has some 27 years experience in the trade. He started his career in the Merchant Navy where, for over 12 years, he rose through the catering ranks to the position of Head Chef. In the Navy Ian gained a wealth of experience in imaginative catering for large numbers under strict budgetary and time constraints - not to mention frequent adverse conditions.

He put that experience to good use in his subsequent 10 years as Head Chef and partner in the busy and successful Olympian Cafe Bar in Dunoon. He and his partner built the business from a basic public house into a family friendly and popular business, very much modelled on the best features of the continental cafe.

Some 5 years ago Ian and Fiona set out on their own establishing Party Pieces - a business which has quickly grown and established a reputation for providing professional catering services to a broad range of loyal and happy customers. Ian and Fiona combine their business with providing the catering services at Cowal Golf Club in Dunoon. This arrangement allows Party Pieces the flexibility to build their catering business from a solid home base with the use of the function suite and other facilities available at Cowal Golf Club. The Club provides a modern and attractive venue for functions large or small.

Ian is happily married, you may have guessed, to Fiona and they have 3 young children. Despite his inevitable long and anti-social hours Ian still finds the time to be heavily involved in the local Cowal Round Table and is a leading light in Table's annual and very successful Kids Round Cowal Charity events

Fiona McColm

Fiona's background is the insurance sector and her financial, taxation and accounting skills ensure Party Pieces is on a sound financial footing. Fiona has still found the time to work in the catering industry for over 15 years, initially on the service side, before joining Ian in building first the Olympian Cafe Bar and now Party Pieces.

Fiona is not only responsible for the financial aspects of Party Pieces but runs all the front of house services and co-ordinates all the detailed planning which goes into every successful event

Somehow Fiona manages to combine all this with caring for her 3 young children and taking an active role in the local Cowal Ladies Circle where she too is deeply involved in a number of local charitable events.

Individually Ian and Fiona have amassed many years of invaluable experience and skill in the catering industry. Together, and with the support of their young and enthusisatic team, they make an unbeatable combination offering quality, imagination, style and reliability, not to mention good value and excellent service to all their clients.
